Intergenerational Chess at DOROT is a weekly after-school program that brings 6th – 12th grade students together with older adults to share their love of the game and hone their skills while enjoying the company of someone from a different generation.
Youth Enrollment is now open for DOROT’s Intergenerational Chess
“One of the best things about playing chess with Mr. B is how excited we are to see each other.” – Zach, age 13
The program is hosted by DOROT, a local community organization that has been serving the Upper West Side for 40 years. Our mission is to bring the generations together, because we believe that the community is stronger when we support and learn from one another.
Intergenerational Chess is a great opportunity for young players to share their passion for chess with an older friend and gain experience teaching a skill.
No cost to participate, spaces are limited.
