Goddard Riverside, a well-regarded social service center in the neighborhood, is looking for tutors for low-income students for the coming school year.
Goddard Riverside Community Center’s highly-regarded Star Learning Center is seeking volunteer tutors for its 2017 School Year Program.
“Tutoring can really help a child succeed in school – and that makes a big difference in their lives!” said Director Deena Hellman. “We urgently need more tutors to serve all the children who’ve signed up.”
The program serves low-income students from across the city, and each tutor works one-to-one with a single student. Tutors need only commit to a two-hour block of time once a week at the Center, which is located at 26 West 84th St. in Manhattan.
High school students are welcome to volunteer, but must be in at least the 10th grade.
