Local politicians and Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance are holding a forum on Thursday night to discuss recent hate crimes and what community members can do about them. This is from Councilmember Mark Levine’s office:
Manhattan Valley, NY —  In response to the dramatic rise in hate crimes across New York City, Council Members Levine, Rosenthal, and Perkins, along with Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus A. Vance Jr. will address the community’s concerns during a Hate Crimes Forum in Manhattan Valley Thursday night.
The agenda includes a discussion on the legal definition of a hate crime, how community members can report them, and a Q&A period for the community to share their concerns with the elected officials. The panel will also help identify what services and resources are available to victims of hate crimes, as well as to those who feel they may be targeted.
