Four people, including two children, were injured in a fire at 249 West 61st Street early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out on the first floor of the six-story building and the FDNY was called at 5:35 a.m., according to an FDNY spokesman. Sixty firefighters battled the blaze.
The four victims were taken to New York Hospital and the injuries were considered minor, according to the spokesman. The fire was under control as of 6:19 a.m. The fire is under investigation and there is no immediate word on the cause.
There was also a fire called in at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday night at 201 West 89th Street. Seventy-eight firefighters responded to what appeared to be an oven fire in the 14-story building, an FDNY spokesman said. There were no injuries and the fire was under control as of 6:40.
