A 35-year-old woman jumped in front of an oncoming 1 train at 96th Street on Wednesday but survived, according to the NYPD. The incident occurred at around 8 a.m. as a southbound 1 train was entering the station, according to MTA spokesperson Marisa Baldeo.
The woman was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where she is expected to survive. Trains were held at the station from 7:56 until 8:26 a.m., according to Baldeo.
