The winds were nasty overnight from Saturday night through Sunday morning, with gusts of up to 60 mph expected. Ernie Fritz, who took the picture above, reported that “winds knocked out a side portion of a scaffolding at a building doing renovations on the corner of a building at 103rd and Riverside Drive. There appeared to be no injuries. The fire department was on scene trying to secure the site.”

It looks like the back window of the car next to the site was smashed.
The National Weather Service issued a warning for New York City on Sunday:
Damaging winds through early afternoon.
Widespread freezing temperatures for parts of the area tonight through early Monday morning.
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.
- Winds: northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
- Timing: Highest winds through this morning.
- Impacts: downed trees and power lines. Scattered power outages and difficulty driving, especially high profile vehicles on overpasses and bridges.
Recommended actions
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
