The annual yard sale on 103rd street takes place this Saturday, May 17 and there are lots of unique items worth checking out. Caitlin Hawke, who is helping organize the sale, sent us the description below:
The Annual Spring Yard Sale put on by the W. 102nd & 103rd Streets Block Association takes place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 40 neighbors will set up their wares, treasures, books and more, all along W. 103rd Street between West End Avenue and Riverside Drive. While you can find incredible bargains on other people’s unwanted stuff — from baby clothes to kids’ toys to dishes and appliances — those with the best eye will spot true treasures.
The Shirley Temple doll below is just the kind of collector’s item you can find. An homage to the great child actor who sadly passed away in February, this doll is from the 1950s. Recognizable with its signature cheeks, ringlet locks, and pink slip dress, the doll is still in the original box. It even has a wee purse (another collector’s item). Shirley is in good condition and the box in fair condition.
So come on out to the great Upper West Side yard sale all day this Saturday on W. 103rd Street between West End Avenue and Riverside Drive. The selling starts at 10 a.m. Rain date is Sunday. You never know what you might find!
