Here are a few upcoming volunteer opportunities in the neighborhood. If you know of other ways to volunteer, let us know at info@westsiderag.com.
The Goddard Riverside book fair is coming up in November and they need people to help sort books and perform other tasks. More here. And there are other ways to help out at Goddard.
The Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center has entered The #RiseToThrive Charity Challenge. “The charity team that raises the most before 10/22 wins a $25,000 donation, second place gets $10,000, and third gets $5,000. The Center will be competing on a national level against numerous organizations. We are the underdog against bigger organizations but our Afterschool Program really needs your help!.” Donate and learn more here.
Help children with Congregation Rodoph Sholom: “Beginning in October, CRS will begin a weekly food supplement program for children who rely on government-assisted programs to receive food during the week and often have nowhere to turn over the weekend. Every Friday during the school year, our Backpack Buddies program will provide a targeted group of children from the Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center, here on the Upper West Side, with a backpack full of food. We will need volunteers (for approximately one hour at a time) to pack backpacks, drive backpacks to the Center, and help unload the food deliveries when they arrive at the synagogue. Unloading and packing will take place on Wednesdays, and deliveries will take place on Fridays.  For more information, please contact: backpackbuddies@crsnyc.org.” You can also sign up to learn about more Rodoph Sholom volunteering opportunities.
