News:
The Jewish population in New York is growing and shifting, according to new stats: “Over the last decade wealthy, Ivy League graduates like those on the Upper West Side have increasingly lost population share relative to Orthodox groups, like the Hasidic population in Brooklyn, where college degrees are rare and poverty rates have reached 43 percent.” (NY Times)
The Upper West Side would be “an ideal spot” for a Museum of Food and Drink, a lawyer for the project told the Upper West Side Community Board last week. People would get to eat and drink at the museum, but beyond that details are still a little sketchy. (DNAinfo)
The city is auctioning off several properties later this month, including a Lincoln Towers apartment for $930,000 minimum. (Malcolm tends to have auction news before anyone else, by the way). (Malcolm Carter)
