This weekend has been a relatively violent one on the Upper West Side, with at least two serious incidents.
On Friday just before midnight, three young men were shot in front of the building at 175 West 90th Street off of Amsterdam Avenue (pictured above). Details of the shooting, reported by DNAinfo, were sketchy, but the three victims (described as being around 17 or 18 years old) were rushed to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
On Sunday at 12:30 a.m. in Central Park near Wollman Rink, a man in his 30’s wearing a tuxedo was attacked by a group of men who slashed him in the hand with a knife, the New York Post reported. They stole his wallet and iPod. The victim apparently didn’t have his glasses on and was having trouble making his way through the park. The muggers got away. The knife injury was “not serious” the Post reported. What knife injury isn’t serious?
