Councilwoman Gale Brewer, the DOT, and Upper West Side Streets Renaissance are giving out free bike helmets this weekend. Just go to Gale’s office on Columbus between 87th and 88th Streets between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Supplies are limited and you must sign waivers to get the helmets. Helmets available for all ages.

Workers sawed off some of the urns on the terraces at the 333 West 86th Street near West End Avenue, claiming they are a safety hazard. Residents were angry, including one woman who “flung her arms around” an urn to keep it from being lopped off. The building is holding off on more urn-chopping for now. (DNAinfo)
Reviews are pouring in f Daniel Boulud’s two new restaurants/cafes near Lincoln Center, Boulud Sud and Epicurie Boulud and they’re looking pretty, pretty, pretty good. One reviewer wrote “for now Boulud Sud might be the best fine dining deal in town.” (Eater)
