Election Day is here! And there is an Upper West Side and Morningside Heights race to vote on.
Today is the last chance to vote in the Assembly District 69 election, which represents West 80th to 125th streets, and includes large swaths of Riverside and Central Park.
There are five candidates vying to replace Assemblymember Danny O’Donnell, who announced this fall that he would not be seeking reelection.
- Carmen Quinones
- Eli Northrup
- Jack Kellner
- Melissa Rosenberg
- Micah Lasher
On Monday evening, Rep. Jerry Nadler was at the West 96th Street and Broadway train station campaigning for Lasher, who he has endorsed.
Polling places are open today from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
You can find your polling place — HERE.

Disappointed by the flagrant electioneering at some locations.
This article itself falls under the category of flagrant electioneering. Can we expect coverage of notable UWSiders campaigning for the other candidates throughout the rest of today?
There must have been a free buffet somewhere for Nadler to show up. Time to pack it in Jerry and give new blood a chance.
Throwing snark without evidence is unseemly.
Here are the bills that Jerry Nadler has sponsored or co-sponsored during his tenure.
I think it’s a record that’s responsive to the needs of this community.
What have you been doing meanwhile?

Endorsements should not matter – it’s all part of being in the club. That said, Micah Lasher has done more for this community than all of the other candidates combined. Yes, this is electioneering from a former public defender.
Thanks to Eli Northrup and his campaign staff and volunteers for giving the 69th Assembly District a choice!
Micah Lasher had J. Nadler and R. Messinger appear on a mailer that pointed a vague finger at Eli Northrup for supposedly distorting opponent’s record: it offered no facts just accusation, which I call dirty pool. Also the Lasher campaign sent out personalized absentee ballot applications with recipient’s birthdate. Too aggressive by far for me. The result tonight is a consolidation of traditional power with all the already electeds having lined up with the candidate who has been government adjacent for his adult life.
Maybe Danny O’Donnell should have endorsed Eli sooner?
Let’s see what Micah Lasher works on and how he includes the thousands of voters who did not support him.
