West Side Rag received the following email from Tania Isenstein, on behalf of Dan Salas, at 5:51pm, Thursday:
Hi everyone! We JUST lost our dog near Columbus circle. She slipped out of her coat and wasn’t wearing her collar. Her name is Maggie and she responds to her name. She’s a four-year-old chiweenie. She’s so tiny and sweet and is probably very scared! Please call me at (805) 674-9039 if you have her or see her!
Thank you.
Update: Dan Salas wrote to tell us that “a Good Samaritan found Maggie and took her to the vet, where they were able to scan her microchip and call us. She’s home safe now.”
Post to Facebook; flyer the nearby streets; call the ACC every day. If she’s a rescue, contact the rescue, which may be able to help bring more resources to bear. I hope you find your little girl quickly!
Thank you so much for posting this, Carol! A Good Samaritan found Maggie and took her to the vet, where they were able to scan her microchip and call us. She’s home safe now. Appreciate you watching out for her!
Oh! So happy!
This dog was found an hour ago. Altho she didn’t have her collar or jacket, she is micro-chipped. The person finding her took her to their vet, the owner was identified and all is well. They are looking at replacement jackets and leads that will be more difficult to shed.
Wonderful news! Perfect reason why microchipping is important! Just make sure contact information is always current!
thank goodness for microchips!
Thank goodness, so great to hear good news! My heart sank for the poor little sweetheart till I read all of it 🙂
So very happy to hear it!! I’m a dog lover and my heart broke when I heard the dog was missing. Microchipping is essential and is not painful or expensive. What a sweet little dog.
