We just heard about some changes above 100th Street from a source deep within the commercial real estate community. Specifically, a new French cafe is coming to 107th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, and a discount home goods store and a dry cleaners have both closed, says David Chkhedize at Massey Knackal, which is now trying to lease out the spaces.
1. La Toulousaine Boulangerie Patisserie Cafe: The bakery just signed a 10-year lease at 942 Amsterdam Avenue (pictured above), which used to be Miguel Barber Shop. It should openin January or February, David says.
2. At Home Store: The discount home store on the corner of Broadway and 106th Street (left) that always had cheap linens and towels piled outside, has closed, and the landlord is looking for a tenant.
2. Rainbow Cleaners: The cleaners on 107th and Columbus has closed.
