The blizzard o’ 2016 is upon us, and the photos that readers have sent in are spectacular. As of Saturday night, there were 25 inches of snow recorded in Central Park.

Hope springs eternal. “12:30 – height of blizzard – 3 inches of accumulating snow per hour plus 25 MPH winds. Alexander Pope’s poem can be summed up wonderfully in this picture of a lone Central Park Pedicab person awaiting a fare. Amazing.” Photo by Seth Gopin.

Today during the blizzard, at 4pm, outside my window on CPW, a man was playing a saxophone on the corner. He lasted about 15 minutes before he stopped. Surreal.
Dear building owners, throwing rock salt onto your sidewalk is not a substitute for shoveling. I’m amazed this even needs to be said.
Most likely building employees who grew up in places where it never gets anywhere near cold enough to snow.
Great photos! Thank you!
Thanks to civic minded neighbors like Peter Ross, but the MTA needs to do a better job of clearing the snow from the stairways to the subway.
The photos of people helping out are great! Peter Ross shoveling subway steps and others pushing stuck venicles. Wow!
Yes, hooray to Peter Ross and others who helped out…but the MTA should do a better job of clearing the subway steps…
Bunch of liars. There was no more than a foot of snow in central park. Why are the weather people exaggerating so much. What is their motive?
Don’t eat the yellow snow.
https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20160120/south-jamaica/3-reasons-why-experts-exaggerate-winter-storm-predictions
Your link is why they exaggerate predictions. It doesn’t talk about mismeasuring which is what Naro is claiming. In this case until Saturday morning they were under predicting what NYC was getting.
If that’s only a foot of snow I must be over 10 feet tall.
New snow measurement a Liberal tool.
Exaggerate everything in order to convince taxpayers that we need change and increased tax revenue .
Looks live about 8 inches of snow to me.
clearly you don’t know what “8 inches” looks like.
From that libtard rag everyone hates: “The massive storm left 18 people dead and caused heavy flooding along the coast. The 26.8 inches of snow that fell in Central Park was the second-highest total ever recorded.” -NYTimes
Also, if you’re not angry enough already, wait until you see all the graffiti everyone wrote during the blizzard! :-p
John and Claire are angry Conservatards. Why do you even visit this website? just to be miserable trolls? Maybe you should stick to Breitbart News along with your fellow trolls.
Troll grade: B+
Extra points for having two separate posts that come across as ridiculous. Loses points as the first post, which is almost silly enough to blur the line between being blatantly trolling, or just plain old psychosis.
2nd post gets extra credit for calling the nytimes “libtards” then quoting only facts. Well done satire!
Hey, that’s my husband dragging our kids after lunch at the Chinese place! Too funny.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
Wow. Just Wow!
Beautiful gallery of photos everyone!
And thanks for including me 🙂
This looks like so much fun! (except for homeless people or those without sufficient heat)
And hooray for good citizen Peter Ross!
C’est impressionnant.Une grande pensée pour vous et bon courage.

Puta como tu madre!
Peter Ross, the nice fellow shoveling the 110th St subway station, is a friend. We go to same church.
Poppy’s request.
Great photos. A lot of historical context to them. Now the rest of the week will be the big melt consisting of giant puddle lakes everyone will jump over while crossing streets 🙂
now, it truly is a wonderland and I wish I was there; just until it quits being white and clean
Just more reasons why I am glad I live in San Francisco!
WOW!! It’s amazing how tranquil and beautiful NYC looks during a snow storm. There is something surreal, dare I say spiritual and majestic about how Mother Nature slows everything down to the bare essentials.
