The Abbey Pub, a neighborhood stalwart at 237 West 105th street, reopened on Wednesday after being closed for about a month. The city had shut the bar down in late October during a Halloween party. Police did not respond to questions about why the bar shut down, and neither did the owners.
The owners posted this on their Facebook page:
“Whoo Whoo! The Abbey will be reopening on wed. Nov. 27th at 4pm, (assuming all the paperwork goes through). So come out and help us celebrate, but make sure to have your ID ready!”

Checked your Facebook link, and here’s what the Abbey Pub wrote on Nov. 20th in response to a question: “we were closed because our doormans license had expired, and we were hand checking id’s with a flashlight, instead of using the card scanner. there were no underage on either of the police visits in oct”
