The largest-ever rendition of “Summer on the Hudson” is coming to Riverside Park with more than 300 free events.
The annual program, overseen by Riverside Park Conservancy and the New York City Parks Department, will kick off its 22nd year on May 1, including activities along the west side of Manhattan from 59th to 181st streets through October.
There will be silent discos, music and dance performances, children’s shows, educational workshops, festivals, fitness activities, and more.
“Summer on the Hudson is one of the best ways to enjoy summer in New York City,” said Merritt Birnbaum, President & CEO of Riverside Park Conservancy, in a press release. “The breadth of our program offerings ensures that you’ll find something unique and engaging for every age, interest, and physical ability – whether you’re a nature lover, a science geek, a fitness buff, or a live music fan.”

Thank you, the info is very helpful. Looking forward to many of the events.
The kite festival looks like great fun. I grew up in Minnesota where there was no wind,. I never got a kite in the air.
Does anyone know if the goats will return, and whether there will be another “Goatham” event this year?
Thanks for these wonderful community events in the parks and in public spaces and NOT in the OPEN STREETS. My East Side friends love coming to the Wild West Side for a dose of “community” in summer!
Can’t agree more. Wonderful use of public spaces. Enough with open streets nonsense.
