Halloween decorations have returned to the Upper West Side’s spookiest block.
For years, the West 69th Street Block Association has transformed its stretch between Amsterdam and Central Park West into a Halloween spectacular.
This year, there are chains, ghosts, ghouls, pumpkins, skeletons, skulls, spiders, and more.
Broadway icon Gwen Verdon began the Halloween tradition on West 69th Street in 1971.
The West 69th Street block will also host a festival in its full capacity on Halloween this year for the first time since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival, which will include trick-or-treating, will take place on October 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Here are a few more photos of the decorations on the block.

Used to live on that block. One of the best blocks on the UWS.
But remember: Curb your ghosts. Otherwise, you might get slimed.
Hey, how about our block on 87 St between West End and Riverside Drive, which puts on a fabulous Halloween show!!!! People come from out of town to walk up and down and be scared, and there are lots of treats for little ones!
what time on 87th St?
