At approximately 1:52 a.m. Saturday morning, a gunman shot a 36-year-old man in the back as the victim was walking in the courtyard of Frederick Douglass Houses at 120 W. 104th Street near Columbus Avenue, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed to WSR.
The victim’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, police said. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside (St. Luke’s) hospital.
The male suspect fled on foot. There have been no arrests in the incident; the investigation is continuing, NYPD said.
The New York Post first reported this story.
Here’s hoping that the man recovers. And that he cooperates with the investigation if he knows the shooter.
Shooting someone in the back and running away: the personification of cowardice.
