Will there be any sort of punishment or disincentive for these perpetrators if they are ever caught? I thought DA Bragg did not want to pursue jail time for fine men like this because the gun didn’t go off.
Nope. That image depicts a legitimate threat of use of that gun and so it’s a bail-eligible offense. But don’t let the facts get in the way of your thirst for more state-sanctioned cruelty!
even if they are caught. No one is going to jail. Not anymore
It’s bail eligible but will bail be pursued? Also I find it interesting – to say the least – how you find it cruel to pursue jail time for people with guns who threaten to blow away strangers for money, but have zero to say about the cruelty towards the victims (assuming you even think that is cruel or worth focusing on). Sick.
Looks like DA Bragg’s new policy is to arrest the victims who try to defend themselves not the poor, misunderstood miscreants who commit the crimes. They just get severe talking to
This one was especially interesting:
“Incident #2 (24 Pct): On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at approximately 4:45am, two unidentified male individuals did enter 2732 Convenience store located at 2732 Broadway and demanded cash from the register. Individual #2 displays a knife in his right hand and demands cash, but they both flee on foot to parts unknown without any cash or property removed…”
So were there any comments heard along the lines of: “Just kidding” “April Fool” or: “On the other hand, we could just go straight starting right now…”
Did they just forget, mid-crime, due to the early-onset of some dread memory disease?
Was it something along the lines of Holmes’ “the dog that didn’t bark in the night”?
Come on, inquiring readers want to know!
PS- By the way, it should have been written: “they both fled” not “they both flee”. I mean, please; did we all go to elementary school or not?
The sentence in question is written in the present tense ( displays, demands) thus it seems to me that “they both flee” is correct.
We are intrigued by the language of police reports.
Is it wrong to assume that these are first time offenders? Or perhaps they have been arrested before and are beneficiaries of Bragg.s “catch & release policy”? Sure, take the guns from the streets and the knives come out. No matter, the city is circling the bowl faster with Bragg and Adams and until laws that protect law-abiding people are enforced we all will be going down with it.
Not sure what convenience stores are dumb enough to have $2000 plus in the cash register at 4 am and no security measures
You’re blaming the victim
