The second annual food fest put on by the people behind the 111th Street Block Association is scheduled for this Friday between 7 and 9 p.m., on Amsterdam Avenue between 111th and 112th Streets.
The Taste of 111th will feature food tastings from several local restaurants, including V & T Restaurant & Pizzeria, Hungarian Pastry Shop, Mel’s Burger Bar, Hula Poke, Tartina, Tom’s Restaurant, The Heights Bar & Grill, Le Monde, and others.
Participants buy $10 “passports” for six “bite-size” tastes from the restaurants, and then can return to the Open Street to vote on their favorite. “The restaurant with the most votes will be crowned the winner of the Triple One Cup, a perpetual prize co-sponsored by the Morningside Merchants Association,” the block association says. “There will also be a raffle and live jazz music.”
Thanks for the coverage, WSR!
Quick point: On-site sales of our Tasting Passports will be extremely limited. We encourage all guests to register now in order to ensure they receive one.
