From her courtyard at 149 West 85th Street (between Columbus and Amsterdam), Suzy Perelman, who has played violin in numerous Broadway shows, including Cats, My Fair Lady and Phantom of the Opera, and her “insanely talented” colleague, Christian, a Broadway pianist, will perform an hour-long open concert tonight, Wednesday, at 6 p.m. They’re hoping to make it a regular, recurring event.
“…although I do realize, it might be a bit late to spread the word,” said her neighbor Tessa, who sent us the tip. “This is an absolute treat that needs to be shared.. we’ve been deprived of truly good live music + sunshine for AGES.”
That’s all we have for now. Let us know what you hear, think and feel in the comments.
Enjoy!
Wish every New York City Street had neighbors like that. Setting the bar high!
Ps: if outside and at least 4 feet apart, you don’t need masks. No different than an outdoor cafe! 🙂
Suzy is a delight! So happy she is still sharing her gifts with the world. She used to serenade the CATS Broadway women’s ensemble dressing room every week pre-show while I put cat wigs on people. Such a treat!
When will this be happening again? Every Wednesday? Thanks for sharing!
