No coat, no scarf, no phone in hand, no pocketbook…odd
None of that is necessarily odd, if she’s returning from a workout, and/or if she has a smartphone or smartwatch, with credit cards or an e-pay app.
I rarely go out with a wallet anymore, and nearly never take my phone since my watch can do the essential things that my phone would do.
The shift in weather on Thursday from 10 am to the afternoon was pretty dramatic – I recall the am as being spring-like but with a hint of a winter wind but after lunch was downright wintery all around – and wet. To me, her hands look a bit clinched as if she was maybe feeling cold. I guess if she had any medical conditions that put her in a crisis and she were taken to a hospital, she would have been identified by now? Wherever she is, may she be protected and return home safe and sound. This video got a good shot, maybe someone will recognize having seen her.
Agree.
The fact she was not “properly” dressed nor carrying any of the things that are considered “normal” today such as a cell phone only adds to the mystery.
She has a cellphone hanging off her left hip, looks like perhaps in a slim fanny pack-type thing. I really do think she’s coming/going from exercise — an outdoor run possibly… or, if she owns a car (where she might have left her coat), an exercise class.
Yes, it’s very unusual. I wonder if she started out wearing a coat and carrying a bag, and maybe went in somewhere on 2nd Avenue/65 and then just popped out to pick up a coffee or whatever. I hope there will be a follow up to this (with a positive outcome).
I hope there is some explanation in which she is safe … Video says 4:45pm – As dressed, seems like a fit/healthy woman out on a pre-sunset run, perhaps headed back to the westside through the 65th traverse. Sending hopeful thoughts to her loved ones.
Article cites “leaving her upper west side apartment around 10:00 a.m.”. The time stamp on the video converts to 4:43……so that would be p.m.?
last seen in person 10am, on video 4:45pm the same day, reported missing that evening
It seems strange to report someone missing so quickly. She was last seen Thursday at 10am, and by the evening someone contacted the police.
Also, in order to find that camera footage, they must’ve known generally where she was headed.
I hope she’s fine, but I just found these things odd.
Not odd at all. If my family member or co-worker didn’t show up as expected I’d call the police within two hours.
Thanks for the update WSR! But did you mean to say she was found around midnight? So worrisome. Glad to hear she was found and is back home, and I hope nothing traumatic happened to her.
