The former home of Liberty House, a clothing, jewelry, and gift shop at 112th and Broadway that closed in 2017 after 49 years, will once again brim with activity for two weekends at least. Several artisans are opening a pop-up market there for the weekends of June 8-9 and June 15-16 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Learn more below.
Local business owners teamed up to create the pop up market with Columbia University. They are all 2018 graduates of the Harlem Local Vendor Program. Supported by Columbia University, the ColumbiaHarlem SBDC, and Harlem Park to Park, the Harlem Local Vendor Program helps small businesses in upper Manhattan grow through educational programs, networking opportunities and business coaching.
“We’re so grateful to Columbia University for partnering with us to allow us to make the Uptown Artisanal Pop Up possible,” said Jennifer Stamm, owner of Hashbags, a line of tote bags. “We’re also thankful for the Harlem Local Vendor Program, which has enabled us to create a support network to help all our businesses grow. Ooo, it says “artisinal” so you know it has to be good.
Ooo, someone commented on the word artisanal! They must be really smart!
Snide comments should at least spell the quoted word properly.
True dat!
“Farm to table, Mediterranean sea salts & Middle Eastern spices”. And the salt and cumin are free-range to boot!
This is a great idea. Hope it’s not only on weekend#.
Will everything be curated?
I miss Liberty House so much!
