Greek restaurant Kefi closed its location at 505 Columbus Avenue between 84th and 85th Streets a few days ago, but it won’t be gone for long. Chef Michael Psilakis, who sold his interest in Kefi but kept the brand rights, will move Kefi back to its original location at 222 West 79th St., he said in a statement to Eater.
That’s the current location of Psilakis’ other restaurant Fishtag, a casual seafood restaurant. So now Fishtag needs a new home.
“We will continue to offer beloved Kefi staples while also breathing new life into this fun and affordable traditional Greek concept,” Psilakis wrote to Eater.

So was right, had something to do with real estate after all.
Sounds like they simply “gave back the keys” to LL at 505 Columbus Avenue, and or got out before the marshal came (again).
Oh well, now people in wheelchairs can once again not be able to enjoy Kefi. Sigh.
That space is less than half the size of where Kefi was, and feels even more crowded with low ceilings. If I was a current Kefi employee I would be actively looking for a new job.
