Two marches on the Upper West Side will honor Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday.
From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., students from the Manhattan Country School will march through the neighborhood and stop to speak about issues. The school at 150 West 85th Street was founded with a social justice mission, and this is the 30th annual march it has organized. “The march begins at 10 a.m. at the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument (Riverside Park at 72nd Street) and ends at approximately 2 p.m. at Manhattan Country School (150 W. 85th St., between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues). For more information about the march route, visit manhattancountryschool.org/2018-mlk-march.” They expect 200 to 400 people to show up.
And starting at 2 p.m., an interfaith group will walk from the Holy Name of Jesus/St. Gregory the Great Church at 96th Street and Amsterdam, and weave throughout the neighborhood. See more details below:
How nice! Oh what fun we will all have together!
