Hello creative Upper West Siders! We are holding a pumpkin-carving contest and have a voucher for some very hot Broadway tickets to give away.
Here’s how to enter: Carve a pumpkin in some form or fashion to frighten or delight your neighbors. (Two years ago, some sicko carved a pumpkin-birth scene that frightened and delighted us.)
Then take two pictures of it: One with the pumpkin or pumpkins set up in whatever pose you’d like to feature them when we post them on West Side Rag. And a second photo with the pumpkin and some sort of proof that it was carved this fall (as opposed to some image you found on the Internet). To prove it, please hold up a current newspaper or a screen showing a recent story from West Side Rag in the photo, like this:
Send us the two photos by Monday, Oct. 31 at noon. Send them to westsiderag at gmail dot com with the subject “pumpkin contest”. They will be posted on the site and judged by a few “expert” judges. Online voting by readers will also make up a portion of the vote.
The top 5 entries will receive a West Side Rag mug (to be picked it up at a centralized location on the UWS).
The number one winner will get two tickets to the hot new show on Broadway, “Oh Hello”!
Oh Hello is a comedy with Nick Kroll and John Mulaney, about a “wheezing, cranky, incontinent pair of roommates from the Upper West Side are bringing shabbiness back to sanitized, glamorized Times Square,” the Times’ Ben Brantley writes. It’s apparently hilarious. To learn more and buy tickets, go here, and check out some Oh Hello promotions below.
SPECIAL #OHHELLOWEEN OFFER: $99 tickets for both performances this Saturday 10/29 (2pm & 8pm) when purchasing with code OHSOC1025 – visit TelechargeOffers.com
For fans coming to either show on Sunday 10/30 (3pm or 7pm) who arrive dressed as their best Gil & George, there will be a special treat at the theatre!

Are those good looking mugs available for sale?
Perhaps in the future. Thanks for asking! WSR
I love this website, but once again, you have posted an article with a timely offer available on the same day you’ve posted the article. Is it really conceivable that people will read this article posted on Saturday at 10:13 am in time to make the decision to purchase tix to a Broadway show at 3pm or 7pm the same day?
This is now the third instance in the last two months where an offer or screening has been posted that is valid only on the same day of the posting. Perhaps our neighbors Misters Faison and St. Geegland, as true residents of the Upper West Side, will extend this offer for a week or a month, upon showing valid ID as proof of residency.
