News:
The Times has more on what’s going on the plans to move PS 452 and PS 191, which we wrote about last week. “P.S. 452 would move 16 blocks, from 77th Street to 61st Street. While Mr. Parker, the principal, and some parents support moving, since it would give the school its own building, other parents say that the longer commute would deprive their children of the benefits of attending a true neighborhood school, such as bumping into classmates on the playground.”
The 20th precinct sponsored a pre-prom makeover for a bullied teen from local high school The Urban Assembly School for Green Careers. The teen won an essay contest. “A group of officers, including Sgt. Espinal Perez of the 20th Precinct, who was one of the judges, looked on as Diaz savored the star treatment. ‘We definitely loved his essay, he was definitely ‘it’ for us,’ Perez said. ‘I think he’s a strong young man and I see him doing something in the future — I’m sure I’ll be wearing his clothes.'”
A Good Samaritan was hit in the head with a bottle when he tried to intervene in an alleged flashing. “The 31-year-old straphanger was sitting on a Bronx-bound No. 2 train when Ray Adorno, 25, pulled down his pants and exposed himself to a 22-year-old woman sitting nearby about 3 a.m. on Thursday, cops said. The bold bystander stormed over and told Adorno to zip up — sparking a fight with the younger man as the train rumbled into the 96th St. station. Adorno struck his opponent in the head with a glass bottle, police said. The subway savior was not seriously injured and managed to detain Adorno until police arrived.”
Meryl Streep did a Donald Trump impression at a Central Park benefit. “Streep wore Trump’s classic red tie and even sang. Fellow actress Christine Baranski took on the role of Hillary Clinton and the two sang ‘Brush Up Your Shakespeare.'”
Yea Good Samaritan!
A real hero!
And, oh yeah…Congradulations to the “I only want what’s best for my child” and “I only want the price of my apartment to appreciate nicely” on the coverage the NYT has been providing the world on the segregated and contentious UWS schools.
I am only glad that my children attended when they did. I would be disappointed today.
