Flame, the new Hibachi restaurant at 100 West 82nd street, has opened with a bang — or rather a burst of fire — overcoming a brief pre-opening closure due to health violations.
The latest health inspection, by the way, was just about pristine, drawing a measly two violation points.
Guests can get an up-close view of the food being cooked. “Culinary theatre extraordinaire!” exclaimed Julia Hardwicke, who sent in the photo above.
The menu isn’t just char-grilled meat, however. There are also various curry dishes, and a full sushi and sashimi bar. Check it out here.
back in my day, we left the theatre in hell’s kitchen and only ate at home in silence, thanks diblasio
Lifelong NYer here with a serious question. It doesn’t matter who the mayor is, I’ve heard people give a version of, ‘Thanks, [Mayor]!”
So tell me. Which mayor did you love?
William F. Havemeyer, thank you very much. Before the boroughs were consolidated into this current cesspool. And don’t get me started on what happened when they let that liberal LaGuardia run this city.
Went there the night it opened (we were walking toward Amsterdam for dinner) and had a wonderful time. Watch out for that squirt bottle with sake… There’s also a pretty big non-hibachi bar area.
Tried Flame… Kitschy .. An expensive kids place..
Food overpriced and disappointing!
