Our West Side Storytellers event is back, and you don’t want to miss it! (Really, you don’t want to. We checked with your subconscious.)
West Side Rag is teaming up with nonprofit Goddard Riverside Community Center to put on this month’s event. West Side Storytellers features stories about the Upper West Side as told by Upper West Siders, in a live event, with water and snacks provided. The venue is located at 647 Columbus Avenue at 91st Street.
The event will be similar to The Moth, the popular storytelling series and podcast.
There are two things for you to do now:
1. Sign up to attend the event: It costs $10 and you can sign up here.
2. Volunteer to tell a story: We’re looking for people to tell stories. The criteria are: the story should be a true tale about the Upper West Side, and it should take 5 to 10 minutes to tell. It can be funny, sad, silly, strange — whatever. To sign up, send an email to westsiderag@gmail.com with a brief description of your story (the description can be three sentences) and the subject line “storytellers.” Participants will receive a special gift.

West Side StoryTellers. You got the Where but forgot the When: What time and what day?
Thanks.
Oops – I missed that headline: June 20th. Do you know that timing of the event?
7 until 8:30 p.m.
i have a story about the mature ladies who sat peacefully on those benches on 90th street. Those were the sweetest ladies until….. They felt prostitutes were trying to take over the neighborhood and they sprung into action…let’s put it this way it’s been 30 years and I never saw that again . I will reveal the details at the event. Very comical I promise.
