Upper West Side synagogues will come together on Wednesday and Thursday to read the names of many of the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust for Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. The readings will begin at 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue through the night at B’nai Jeshurun, 257 West 88th street. Starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, the readings will continue on the 7th floor at the JCC, 334 Amsterdam Avenue at 76th Street.
The schedule, along with sponsoring synagogues is below. People can come to read names (you can also read names of your own family members) or witness the reading. All are welcome and the event is free.
