A man with a handgun robbed a taco truck on 96th street and Broadway early on Thursday morning, stealing $120 in cash and the earrings of one of the workers.
The robber, described as a 5’6″ Hispanic man who looked like he was about 25 years old, walked in to the Super Tacos truck around 1:40 a.m. and demanded everyone get on the floor, according to Captain Timothy Malin. He then stole $120 from the register. Seeing that one of the workers had what appeared to be diamond earrings, he demanded she give them to him. They were fakes worth $5.
The man fled east on 96th, but police were unable to find him despite canvassing the local subway stations.
