Here’s what the inspector reported:

5) Food contact surface not properly washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use and following any activity when contamination may have occurred.
6) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.
Thanks to several tipsters.
Wow, this is a serious list of health violations. I don’t frequent this place, but I’m sure to keep it in mind and warn others. These people should not be in the restaurant business. I’m happy they came up with the grading system. Thank God for the Dept of health. I won’t eat at a restaurant with less than an A grade. Even with the A. I’m sure there are some violations, but imagine anything less…yuck!
Time to cook at home.
We like this place but won’t sit in the back garden – why – cuz of all the vermin running around… horrifying….
You know the kitchen is even lower then the sitting area of the back garden. I wouldn’t eat there at all, couple of drinks maybe
Bottled beer, maybe, but nothing that would require them to handle any ice or liquids I was intended to ingest.
As of Thursday noon, it re-opened, including the beer garden. Hard to believe they could cure all of this in a day!
Disappointing. Big fan of Five Lamps and I find this surprising. The food is great (have you tried the wings?), staff is very friendly.
Initially, I thought the “Beer Garden” out back was nice, but I actually prefer being inside there.
I hope they’ve got this figured out, as Five Lamps is a great addition to the neighborhood.
That said… what do you think the chances are that a Pub of some sort could open on Broadway/92nd, where the Bodega closed. Other than the Fabulous, and Amazing Dive Bar… We’re missing a small, neighborhood pub/bar with a good menu.
I have to say that I was finally convinced to go recently during the World Cup and the food was a disappointment and the service was worse. It was a Thursday evening, so maybe things were off compared to the actual weekend, but the place getting shuttered doesn’t improve my opinion of it.
Another trendy craphole shutdown for what it was
