A lost dog named Lucky may be roaming the streets of the Upper West Side, and the owners need your help finding him. A reader sent in the poster above, saying a woman was “frantically” handing them out last night. We hear from the people at the 105th street dog run that the dog got away from a dog-walker on Thursday.
This is from the dog run:
From local dog owner Jane Burbank:
“SUBJ: RUNAWAY WHITE MED SIZE DOG!! – TODAY 1PM – DOWN WEA FROM 97”
“At about 1pm I saw a walker running around the corner of 97th down WEA screaming help, get the dog. He had 2 dogs with him and the third got out of its collar. I saw the dog run down 95th towards the park. If anyone sees the dog call the 24 pct or me—917-733-4094. I don’t know who the walker is or who the owner is; a police car was in pursuit as well.
It’s not the first time in recent weeks that a dog has run away from a walker.
Here, I’ll save you guys some time:
Yadda yadda, the dogwalker situation on the West Side is out of control, I see these guys walking ten dogs at a time, they take up the whole sidewalk, not paying attention, they’re all on their phones, not cleaning up after the dogs. Back in my day, a man walked his own dog 25 miles through the snow and still had time to come home and compose a piano concerto, solve world hunger, and make love to his wife.
How’d I do?
Be glad that this was not in Sochi…
Amen to that.
just heard Lucky has been found!

Recalls this oldie:
“LOST DOG! Has only 3 legs; is partially blind; sometimes incontinent; severe case of mange; answers to name LUCKY ”
