A new pastry shop and an upscale Chinese restaurant will be coming soon to the Upper West Side above 100th street.
A new sweets shop is opening at 844 Amsterdam Avenue (101st street) in the former home of Krik Krak restaurant. Called Tatz Gourmet Sweetz, it covers all of the upwardly-mobile child-friendly buttons: “Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Soy Free, Refined Sugar Free, Low Fat, Mostly Organic, Made Fresh to Order, Vegan Available.” The website is here.
An upscale Chinese restaurant, whose name is still undetermined, is opening at 928 Amsterdam Avenue, between 105th and 106th street. It will replace the furniture store pictured at left.
As we wrote recently, Manhattan Valley appears to be experiencing a restaurant and bakery boom, or maybe people are just noticing it more because real estate prices are rising.
Broker David Chkheidze of Massey Knackal arranged the deals.

Oh, goodie! Me and my friends love trying out new places, especially any one that serves Macarons … it’s so…so….FRENCH!
Keep the Meat Markets and Bodegas on Amsterdam. Less Macarons and more substance please !
