The Upper West Side’s own Gale Brewer declared victory shortly before 11 p.m. in her race to be the Democratic nominee for Manhattan Borough President. Brewer is a beloved figure in the neighborhood, and we hear that she dominated the voting here.

She will face Republican David Casavis in the general election.
The primary race for her seat was still too close to call as of about 11 p.m., with Mel Wymore and Helen Rosenthal in the lead, separated by less than 100 votes with about 34% of the precincts reporting. Mark Levine declared victory in the District 7 race.
Not beloved by residents in the 90’s, whom she betrayed by closing “illegal” hotels and turning them into vast and truly illegal homeless shelters.
Despite Aaron Biller’s ranting against her, Gale Brewer got 90%+ of the vote in the elections districts in the 90s. so someone loves her.
I have met her and she has claimed to be furious about the 95th st homeless shelter. Not that it’s there, but the way it was done. Open your mouths and demand action from her to get rid of it and keep more from opening on the UWS. It’s isn’t fair. Share the burden!
