Can you hear the howls of injustice from Brooklyn? I can.
Once again, the July 4 fireworks will be shot over the Hudson, meaning West Siders get a front-row seat.
Macy’s released the following statement to Gothamist:
“This year, Macy’s Fireworks will take place on the Hudson River with barges positioned between 18th and 48th Streets providing 2 miles of public viewing space. While the show will be on the Hudson River this year, Macy’s Fireworks will continue to take place in and around all of New York City’s waterways, and will not be a permanent fixture in any one location. Exclusively limiting the show to any particular area would greatly hinder the creative freedom that has made it the nation’s best and largest Independence Day display.”
People in Brooklyn planned to hold a spirited protest to fight the decision, according to Brooklyn Heights Blog. That is so cute.

I will not go. Bah!
Boo hoo to you Brooklyn! First your mommies are crying about ice cream being a terror threat to your families, and that the vendors should not worry about making a living. Now you are crying about missing out on the fireworks??? Try living in Tribeca, or the West Side, where we always have to travel on the greatest subway system in the world to see them. It’s about time that we get a home game! Why don’t you secede and live in your bubble and stop crying about picayune things for a change.
